Organising qurban as an NGO: the complete checklist

Running qurban for hundreds or thousands of donors across several countries is a logistical challenge. This checklist walks through the steps that keep an Eid al-Adha operation organised from start to finish.

1. Set your period and country quotas

Create a qurban period with the participating regions and countries, and set how many animals each country will receive. Quotas cap the number of groups per country and prevent over-allocation.

2. Register or import donors

  • Capture each donor's qurban type (sheep, cattle) and country preference
  • Import existing lists from Excel or CSV in bulk
  • Detect and remove duplicate entries before grouping

3. Form groups and assign field volunteers

Divide donors into groups of seven for cattle and camel (one for sheep), then assign a responsible field volunteer to each group so accountability is clear.

4. Update from the field and confirm to donors

On the day, field volunteers update each group's status and upload a video as proof. Every donor then receives an automatic, personalised confirmation with the details.

DonationPort automates the grouping, field updates and confirmations so your team can focus on the operation, not the spreadsheet.
